Used Sports Cars | 2010 Ford Fusion - Ford's Game Face

The previous Ford Fusion's 2.3-liter four-cylinder grows to 2.5 liters. New 2010 models equipped with the updated 3.0-liter V6 will receive the Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) designation with the capability of digesting E85 fuel, and a 3.5-liter version of the V6 Duratec is added to the lineup.

Fusion sedans boast a long list of new features designed to keep it extremely competitive in the cutthroat midsize sedan market. Highlights include aggressive new front-end styling, a choice of three very fuel-efficient and powerful engines, an all-new sporty version, and safety ratings that are hard to top.

The Fusion's restyled front end includes a more aggressive grille, a domed hood and new headlights. To help improve fuel mileage, underbody panels improve aerodynamic efficiency. The Fusion offers a wider, sportier look. The interior has been restyled too, with metallic finished trim on the center instrument panel and steering wheel and doors.

When equipped with the 3.0-liter FFV V6 and an automatic transmission, the Fusion got 26 mpg in the highway test and 18 mpg on the city: Ford expects those numbers to rise to an estimated 19 city and 28 highway for 2010. All-wheel-drive versions recorded 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway for 2009. 2010 models are expected to see an improvement in overall fuel economy. The 3.5-liter V6 is available only in the new Fusion SPORT edition.

Only slightly behind safety and economy, Americans like power—and the 2010 delivers. Compared to the previous 2.3-liter, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine makes 15 more horsepower and 16 addition pound feet of torque for totals of 175 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. Those are numbers once reserved for powerful V6s and smaller V8s. The old four-cylinder engine used to come with a five-speed automatic. Now it has six-speed versions of each. The additional gears help produce adequate acceleration to merge into traffic and excellent highway fuel mileage.

The 3.0-liter FFV V6 engine gets 19 more horsepower, to 240, and 17 more pound-feet of torque, to 222. The 3.0 running on E85, 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline boosts horsepower to 250 but reduces overall fuel mileage. Not long ago, those were great numbers for a sporty V8. The new engine in the lineup, the Fusion SPORT's 3.5-liter V6 teamed with the 6-speed SelectShift, produces a strong 263 horsepower and a peak of 249 pound-feet of torque for a more spirited driving experience.

One way Ford engineers got more power out of these engines is with electric power assist steering, featured on the new 2.5L and 3.0L engines. Rather than the previously employed hydraulic assist that relied upon engine power, electric power assist draws no power when the vehicle is going in a straight line.

The 2010 Ford Fusion got the government's five-star rating, the highest available in front driver, passenger, and side impact tests and rollover testing in the all-wheel-drive model. It received four out of five stars for side rear passenger impact and front-wheel-drive roll over. Electronic stability control and four-wheel, anti-lock brakes are standard.

For those who regularly encounter deep snow, the Fusion is available with all-wheel drive when equipped with either of the V6 engines. To improve handling, ride comfort and steering feel, Ford revised and retuned Fusion's suspension, front and rear. To decrease wind and road noise, the 2010 Fusion gets an acoustic windshield, thicker front door glass, thicker hood insulation, and sound-deadening materials in the doors, trunk and headliner. In addition to the 263-horsepower V6, the 2010 Fusion SPORT gets 18-inch diameter wheels, a sport-tuned air intake and stiffer suspension tuning. On the outside, the Sport gets a special lower grille, side rocker moldings and a trunk-mounted spoiler. An available feature that may help prevent a parking lot fender bender is the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert. This radar-based system warns drivers of hidden traffic approaching.

Ford's popular SYNC voice-activation and entertainment system, compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and MP3 capable devices, is an available feature. Fusion offers a Sony surround sound system that boasts 12 speakers and 390 watts.

Used Sports Cars | 2010 Ford Edge Review

The 2010 Ford Edge is a small pickup SUV that comes in four trim levels: Limited, SE, SEL, and Sport. All the latest generation conventional features are installed in all trims. Among these trim levels, SE is the basic trim but even that arrives with antilock, full power accessories, stability control, 17-inch alloy wheels, and air-conditioning. Apart from the features in SE trim, those who want more luxurious features have to look for other trims such as Limited and SEL trims. Like the Limited trim, the Sport trim has faux suede upholstery, special body design, and larger 20-inch alloy wheels.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2010 Edge that churns out 265 horsepower. The car comes with optional all-wheel drive that has a standard six-speed automatic transmission. It automatically enhances the efficiency by using a cruise control system with all-wheel drive. The power of between 50-60 percent is automatically sidetracked to the back wheels to wipe out wheels spin.

Usually, the seats in third-row are becoming popular in all the latest generations minivans. But, the 2010 Edge lacks this feature and doesn't offer the optional 3rd row seats; however, it comes with a spacious 2nd row seat. To enhance the space of the cargo, the back seats can also be folded or reclined forward. In comparison to its close rivals, storage capacity of the Edge is somewhat low. Even though ergonomically and functionally, it has sound planning, the cabin requires a good amount of interior decoration to catch up with its rivals. Unfortunately, the low quality of the components in interior section of 2010 Ford Edge is fairly visible.

Luxury Cars 2010 | The 2010 Ford Mustang

Like previous model years, the 2010 Ford Mustang ranges from inexpensive and unrefined, to moderately expensive and highly refined. Basic V-6 models remain largely untouched and still offer a stiff ride with a less than ideal steering system. High-end models are more reminiscent of luxury cars, except that they are still noticeably pony cars with a lot of power. Basic models are great for consumers looking to break into the performance car market without spending a lot of money, while high-end models will impress even the toughest critics.

2010 Ford Mustang cars have been revamped both outside and in. Larger wheels are the standard on all models, with more power for GT models, the addition of stability control as standard options on all models as well. Though still unrefined, handling has been improved slightly in basic models, and handling changes are very noticeable with GT models. High-end GT packages have a new suspension system that was originally made for the discontinued Bullit engines of the '09 season.

Engines available still include the aging V-6 4.0 liter engine, which although it is getting old, still puts out an amazing amount of power. Basic models are equipped with the V-6 and it starts at a much lower price than V-8 equipped models. Compared with the lower models from the re-introduced Chevy Camaro, consumers may find that all around quality is lacking in Ford's base models. Where the V-6 cars excel however is body styling and interior quality. Not just high end models benefit from the complete overhaul given to these pony cars.

GT models are the only logical choice for consumers who can afford and want a true luxury style powerhouse. The available V-8 engine with an additional 15 horsepower compared with the previous season. The enhanced suspension tuning has meant that the car is even more fun for drivers. Compared with it's closest competitor, the Chevy Camaro SS, the 2010 Ford Mustang is slightly smaller and a lot more nimble. Even the Dodge Challenger can't offer the responsive handling that the original pony car easily puts out.

Each engine is offered with two different trim packages. There is the V-6, V-6 premium, GT, and GT premium. Basic models come with a few accessories, with a CD player and full power accessories offered on the premium edition. GT models come with a great choice of interior upholstery and dashboard styling. GT premiums offer just every luxury a consumer could want, and the price tag certainly doesn't let them forget it.

Safety ratings are very impressive as well. Both side and frontal tests show that the Mustang is perfect in each category. The front side airbags and standard stability control certainly make this a much safer vehicle than previous model years. The addition of 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes also only adds to the safety offered to drivers and passengers. Fuel economy ranges from 16 mpg city to 24 mpg highway. Of course the smaller V-6 gets the best numbers, while high end models equipped with a V-8 get less.

The overhauled 2010 Ford Mustang is still an eye catching pony car that offers a lot of power. Fortunately, Ford has decided to offer a lot more performance capabilities with that power in the form of much needed suspension updates. Perhaps the best part of these cars is that they truly offer something for everybody. Consumers on a budget can own a performance model, and those who want only the best can get their own model of Mustang. Expect the 'Stang to remain the most popular American pony car.

Luxury Cars 2010 | New Ford Cars - New Car Technology For the Luxury Car Market

Ford as we know today was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford. Back then, it was his dream to build a car for the masses. Today, his legacy stands as the man that made cars a crucial part of our mobile lifestyle.

In his early years, Ford introduced the 'moving assembly line'. This was the first time that a manufacturing company employed moving assembly lines to achieve a more cost-effective method of production.

Later on, Ford expanded into the luxury-car market when he bought Lincoln Motor Company in 1925. Since then, Ford grew to become one of the largest car manufacturers across the world. The Ford Focus, Ford Fusion, Ford Mustang and Ford Fiesta are some of the popular models of Ford cars in the international market.

Ford Motors also has a number of car models rolled up in the market that include a segment of luxury cars as well. Recently, they have developed a new technology known as Noise Vision technology that ensures the quietest interior cabins.

Noise vision Technology:

Noise vision Technology is a new technology which helps manufacturers identify unwanted sounds and eliminate them.

This new technology will make sure that all new cars from Ford Motors will have the quietest interior cabins.

The 'Noise Vision' is basically a small sphere placed inside the cabin of the car and is equipped with more than thirty highly sensitive microphones and twelve special cameras.

The software used in the Noise Vision reads data and creates a computerized image that shows interior noise "hot spots," including wind noise, a squeak, a rattle or unwanted feedback from engine.

New Luxury Ford Cars for the 2010 model year will be developed with this technology.

2010 Taurus, the Fusion, the Flex and the F-150 are some of the names of the cars from Ford that ensure a quiet interior.

Ford Motors work hard to provide comfortable cars to the masses, blended with latest technology. This technology in Ford cars will give tough competition to other manufacturing companies, as Ford is going to use this technology up to a great extent in the luxury car segment.

2011 Ford Mondeo coming with 2.0L Ecoboost

2011 Ford Mondeo

The Ford Mondeo is due for a mid-cycle refresh for the 2011 model year and all signs point to a debut at the Paris Motor Show this September. But ahead of its big reveal, spy photographers have caught the new Mondeo out in the open, and while the basic shape hasn't changed, there's something far more interesting under the hood.

The major stylistic upgrades are up front, where the Mondeo's fascia picks up a few cues from the Fiesta and the 2012 Focus, including a larger lower grille and slimmer upper section. The front foglamps have been re-shaped and a strip of LED running lamps tie the design into Ford's B-segment hatch.

At the back, the tailgate gets a subtle re-shaping above the license plate pocket and it appears the lights have been modified under the camo tape. The most important changes will be in the engine compartment, where the Mondeo will get the new 2.0-liter Ecoboost inline-four and the Powershift dual-clutch transmission. Expect all the details to be revealed shortly ahead of the Paris show this fall.

Rollin on DUBs: Ford Introduces DUB Edition of 2011 Mustang

In order to connect with "a whole new generation of buyers", Ford has teamed up with DUB magazine and Roush to release a special "DUB" edition Mustang.
Based on the 305-horse 3.7 liter V6 model, the DUB package supplies the V6 Stang (coupe, convertible, or glass-roof coupe) with 20-inch TIS rims wrapped in Pirellis, a Roush appearance package, special striping, and the DUB logo embroidered on the headrests.
In an attempt to help the DUB stand out, the appearance package uses Roush's front fascia and splitter, a windshield banner, and rear quarter-window louvers.
In regards to performance: it gets slightly sportier thanks to lowering springs (also from Roush) and a 3.31 axle ratio.
Myles Kovacs, president / co-founder of DUB magazine, said, "Working with Ford and Roush is an honor and has been a dream come true for DUB. The Mustang is such an iconic muscle car and has always been a customizer's favorite. The DUB Edition Mustang stays true to its roots, but I think we've successfully brought a ton of hustle to the muscle."
Available colors for the DUB Mustang are Black, Ingot Silver, Grabber Blue, and Race Red; the interior color is limited to black.
So, how do we feel about yet another special edition Mustang? Pointless or cool?

The Folden: New Zealanders Create Half Holden HQ, Half Ford Mustang Mechanical Frankenstein

Is it a Holden? Is it a Ford? Well, according to the folks from the New Zealand music radio station, 'The Rock', neither. They say it's a Folden and it was born from the unholy -or so to speak- union of a Holden HQ and a 1969 Ford Mustang.
The culprits are The Rock's Drive show announcers, Robert Taylor and Jono Pryor, who claim that they created the Folden because they were "fed up with the ongoing battle between their listeners over who is mightier - Ford or Holden."
Their goal was to fuse the rear 3/4s of a 1970's Holden HQ sedan with the front-end of a 1969 Ford Mustang with power being provided by 302 cubic inch V8 Ford engine.
After 3 months and more than 800 man hours involving a couple of dozen of businesses, and not to mention a total cost ranging somewhere between NZD$85,000 to $95,000 (about US$62,000 to $69,500), the project was finally completed.
Other treats include one-off Chip Foose 20-inch alloy wheels, a gun metal gray paint job with orange racing stripes, a custom interior fully rebuilt, high-end audio system, and last but certainly not least, a cool badge that puts the Mustang horse and Holden lion together.
And what now? New Zealanders have the chance to bid for the Folden as the car is being auctioned on "Trademe" with proceeds to be donated to the NZ Mental Health Foundation for Out Of The Blue, an organization set up to help combat depression in men.
At the time the article was written, the highest bid on the website was NZ$62,700 or close to US$45,800 at today's exchange rates. The auction will end on May 6, 2010.
